Sprinter 170
Murmaider
A 2026 Sprinter 170 AWD built in Reno, NV for off-grid work and backcountry travel, with 800Ah of heated lithium, a Murphy bed that stops halfway to become a standing desk, and L-track on every surface inside and out.
Key Features
Interior: Adventure Wagon modular interior with black hex laminate wall and door panels, a bamboo center ceiling panel, and grey heather upholstery. Marine-grade cabinetry in slate green with black edges, a bamboo countertop, black hex backsplash, and a black Lonseal floor. Black anodized L-track runs the walls and ceiling. Kamper Vans is a certified Adventure Wagon installer.
Seating: Driver and passenger swivel seats, plus a slate green bench storage seat at the crew window with two top-opening compartments underneath.
Sleeps: 2, on a three-panel Kamper Vans Murphy bed with a firm tri-fold Roam Rest mattress. The panels drop onto floor-socketed posts, the garage stays usable with the bed down, and the half-deployed position works as a standing desk.
Purpose: Off-grid remote work and backcountry travel, long stretches away from hookups with the power, connectivity, and workspace to keep working from anywhere.
Kitchen: Isotherm Cruise 130L fridge and freezer, a combination microwave, convection oven, and airfryer, and a double-burner portable induction cooktop that stores in a drawer and cooks inside or out, no propane on board. Bamboo countertop, deep full-extension drawers with CNC-cut liners, a removable cutting board that doubles as counter extension, and a tip-out tray at the sink. Three tables: a flip-up bamboo top on the galley end, a flip-down table into the slider doorway, and an 18-inch Lagun with two mounting positions.
Bathroom & Water: A deliberately simple cold water system: 33 gallon fresh tank over the wheel well with the level on the main screen, a folding faucet at the galley sink, and a rear outdoor shower with a full curtain system. Grey water goes to a portable jug under the galley. Toilet is hidden in the driver side bench with a custom slide-out door and a cushion on top.
Climate: Espar diesel heater under the passenger seat with a high altitude controller, running off the van’s own fuel tank, a single fuel source. Dometic FreshJet 5 11K BTU air conditioner with soft start, a MaxxAir Deluxe fan, 3M Thinsulate wall and ceiling insulation, six added windows, and magnetic covers for every one of them.
Electrical: 800Ah of heated Battle Born lithium, a Victron MultiPlus-II 3000VA inverter and charger, 400W of bifacial rooftop solar, 100A of alternator charging on two Victron Orion XS chargers, and 30A shore power, all read from a Victron Cerbo GX touchscreen. The heated batteries charge safely below freezing.
Storage & Exterior: Orion Stealth roof rack with two L-track roof deck panels for cargo, a Fiamma awning in deep black, custom sail attachment points, American Backroad side steps, a Flatline rear ladder and tire carrier, and a Flatline front bumper. Red and white scene lighting outside and in the garage. Inside, three floor L-tracks and two gear slide-out trays under the bed. If you can strap it, you can bring it.
